  • 2002 winner of the Daytona 500 and the New England 300.
  • 2001 winner of the Southern 500 in Darlington.
  • Ward's win in 2001 at Darlington added him to a select group of drivers to have multiple wins at Darlington.
  • Scored his third career victory in the Southern 500 at Darlington in 2001, making him and brother Jeff the only brothers to claim victories on both events. They also join an elite group of drivers to score victories in both events, including Bobby Allison, David Pearson, Darrell Waltrip, Dale Earnhardt, Bill Elliott, Harry Gant, and Jeff Gordon.
  • For the second year in a row, in 2000 Burton finished in the top 10 in the final NASCAR Winston Cup point standings.
  • Posted his first top 10 in the final standings in 1999, finishing 9th.
  • Three second-place finishes in 1999: Las Vegas, Darlington, and Rockingham.
  • Winner in 1995 at Rockingham.

  • Holds active track record at Darlington (28.295 seconds/173.797 mph, 03-22-96)
  • Four NASCAR Busch Series wins: 1992 Rockingham, 1993 Martinsville, 1993 Orange County Speedway, 1993 Slick 50 300 Atlanta.
  • Busch Series Rookie-of-the-Year runner up, posting three top-10 finishes in 1990.
